A simple way forward
Three steps from uncertainty to a plan you can see.
Learn what may be needed, understand the recommendation and costs, then decide whether a Costa Rica dental experience is right for you.
Discover what you need.
Start by sharing the information that gives the clinical team a real picture. You are not expected to name the treatment—that is exactly what the review is for.
- A general description of the kind of dental care you are exploring
- Your goals and ideal travel window
- The clinic will tell you which records and diagnostics it needs
- Records are optional when you begin; the clinical team explains any additional information needed for review
Start with a nonclinical travel inquiry. Do not email X-rays, health details, or other medical records.
Get your personal plan.
You can begin without attaching records. The inquiry form offers an optional upload field for existing records or images; the clinical team explains any additional records needed and how to provide them. A consultation can then cover the recommendation, what it involves, and the anticipated visit timeline.
- Review of submitted records and images
- Discussion of the clinical recommendation
- Questions about options, timing, and next steps
- Written, itemized estimate and clear treatment inclusions
- Discussion of any new findings, alternatives, and revised costs before approval
The dental clinic—not Divergent Escapes—determines candidacy, treatment, clinical pricing, consent, and care. Do not book travel until you understand the plan and dates.
Book your dental experience.
Once the plan is clear and you are ready to move forward, we shape the travel side around the confirmed appointment schedule—without leaving you to figure out the details alone.
- Confirm clinic appointment dates
- Choose lodging that fits the visit timeline
- Coordinate airport pickup, appointment rides, and your return to the airport
- Build in the recommended recovery and review appointments
- Confirm your clinical follow-up contact and records for your dentist at home
Your clinic handles its care and billing directly. We coordinate the nonclinical Costa Rica experience around it.
The destination still matters
Care comes first. Costa Rica can still feel like Costa Rica.
A dental visit does not have to mean being left alone in an unfamiliar place. After the clinic establishes the schedule, we help bring calm and continuity to the parts of the trip around it.
Clear travel planning around the confirmed clinic schedule.
Ground transportation to and from dental appointments is included in your treatment price. Optional accommodation planning is available.
A comfortable pace and practical support—without turning care into a vacation package.
Prepare with confidence
Plan your Costa Rica dental trip.
Understand your estimate, organize the visit around your care, and see treatment examples before deciding. Start with the questions that matter to you.
What people want to know
Good decisions start with clear expectations.
How will I understand my treatment costs?
Request a written, itemized estimate based on the records available for review. The final plan is confirmed after an in-person examination and any additional imaging. If new findings change the recommendation, review the reason, alternatives, and revised costs with the clinic before approving treatment. Your estimate should distinguish treatment, included ground transportation, and any separately priced services.
Can I communicate with the team in English?
Yes. Dr. Adriana Mena and Dr. Alonso Casafont both speak fluent English, so you can discuss your goals, treatment options, and questions directly with them. Before travel, confirm your clinical contact for follow-up and request written instructions in English.
How can I review the clinicians and clinic standards?
Explore the clinical team’s specialties and qualifications on our Meet the Docs section. Confirm who will perform each part of your care. Ask the treating clinic about instrument sterilization and monitoring, infection-control practices, and the equipment and materials proposed for your case.
What should I plan for during recovery?
Ask your clinician for guidance on comfort management, eating, activity, time away from work, and when you can travel. Recovery varies with the procedure and your health. Plan the pace of your stay around those instructions; discuss any sedation needs and whether someone should accompany you before booking.
What guarantees come with my treatment?
Your dental care comes with a lifetime guarantee on titanium dental implants and limited guarantees on crowns, bridges, dentures, and other restorations. Coverage is subject to the treating clinic’s terms and conditions. Request the written terms for your treatment, including coverage, exclusions, and responsibility for any additional care or travel costs.
What happens if I need help after returning home?
Before traveling, confirm the clinic’s follow-up contact, how remote concerns are reviewed, and when an in-person assessment or return visit may be needed. Request written aftercare and copies of your treatment records for your dentist at home. Ask for any guarantee terms and responsibility for additional care or travel costs in writing; seek local care promptly for urgent concerns.
What if I do not know what procedure I need?
That is normal. Complete the dental discovery form with what you know about your concern and your ideal travel window. You do not need to choose a procedure. The clinical team determines what information it needs and which options may be appropriate.
What should I include in a first inquiry?
Share your contact details, general dental care goals, and ideal travel window. Tell us whether you have existing records. Uploads are optional: the form accepts PDF, JPG, JPEG, or PNG files up to 8 MB each, and you can begin without attachments. The clinical team will explain any additional records needed and how to provide them. Do not send X-rays, scans, or medical records through ordinary email.
When does the consultation happen?
Once the clinic has received and reviewed any information it needs through its process, it may schedule a consultation to discuss its recommendation, the scope of possible care, timing, and your questions before you decide to travel.
How long should I stay in Costa Rica?
Your clinic confirms the number of visits, length of each stay, and any healing interval between stages after reviewing your case. Allow time for recommended recovery and review appointments before you finalize flights or lodging.
How do costs and recovery planning work?
The dental clinic provides its treatment estimate and explains clinical follow-up and recovery guidance. Flights and accommodations are booked separately around the confirmed care schedule. Follow the clinic’s instructions on recovery time and when it is appropriate to travel.
Who provides the care and handles payment?
Your dental clinic provides clinical evaluation, treatment, and follow-up. Payment is due directly to the clinic when you arrive for your appointment, before treatment begins. If your plan requires multiple visits, you pay for the treatment scheduled for each visit when you arrive for that visit.
What transportation is included, and can you help plan my stay?
Your treatment price includes ground transportation for airport pickup, travel from your accommodations to dental appointments and back, and your return to the airport for departure. Flights and accommodations are booked separately.
Divergent Escapes can bring your travel plans together through an optional package, with pricing confirmed before booking. Prefer to arrange your own stay? We can recommend properties where we have established relationships.
