Start with what matters to you

Clear aligners in Costa Rica.
A plan that fits your life.

Crowding, spacing, or uneven tooth positions may affect how you feel about your smile. Start with your concerns and the changes you hope to see.

A clinical examination considers your bite, gums, and dental health before recommending tooth movement. Clear aligners may be one option; suitability and treatment availability need to be confirmed. Explore our periodontal care information to prepare questions about gum health.

What is a clear aligner?

A clear tray.
Gradual tooth movement.

Clear aligners are thin, transparent trays shaped to fit over your teeth. A prescribed series applies gentle pressure to gradually change tooth positions.

The trays are removable for eating, brushing, and flossing. Your clinician sets the wear and tray-change schedule and monitors your progress.

Aligners move your existing teeth; they do not replace teeth or cover them with a new permanent surface.

Clear aligner costs in Costa Rica

Request a written, itemized estimate based on the records available for review. The final plan is confirmed after an in-person examination and any additional imaging. If new findings change the recommendation, review the reason, alternatives, and revised costs with the clinic before approving treatment. Your estimate should distinguish treatment, included ground transportation, and any separately priced services.

Can I communicate with the team in English?

Yes. Dr. Adriana Mena and Dr. Alonso Casafont both speak fluent English, so you can discuss your goals, treatment options, and questions directly with them. Before travel, confirm your clinical contact for follow-up and request written instructions in English.

How can I review the clinicians and clinic standards?

Explore the clinical team’s specialties and qualifications on our Meet the Docs section. Confirm who will perform each part of your care. Ask the treating clinic about instrument sterilization and monitoring, infection-control practices, and the equipment and materials proposed for your case.

What should I plan for during recovery?

Ask your clinician for guidance on comfort management, eating, activity, time away from work, and when you can travel. Recovery varies with the procedure and your health. Plan the pace of your stay around those instructions; discuss any sedation needs and whether someone should accompany you before booking.

What happens if I need help after returning home?

Before traveling, confirm the clinic’s follow-up contact, how remote concerns are reviewed, and when an in-person assessment or return visit may be needed. Request written aftercare and copies of your treatment records for your dentist at home. Ask for any guarantee terms and responsibility for additional care or travel costs in writing; seek local care promptly for urgent concerns.

How many visits will I need, and how long should I stay?

Aligner care usually extends beyond a single trip, with progress checks and adjustments over time. Your clinic confirms the number of visits, length of each stay, and any follow-up before you finalize travel. Allow room for the recommended recovery and review appointments.

Can I complete treatment during one trip?

Aligners are a course of care. Your provider determines the treatment duration and required appointments; do not plan on completing treatment during a single vacation.

Can progress be monitored from home?

Some providers offer remote checks, but in-person visits may still be required. Confirm the arrangement and who to contact if a tray is lost or does not fit.

Will I need a retainer afterward?

Retainers help maintain tooth positions after treatment. Your provider explains the prescribed schedule and care.

Who handles treatment and payment?

Your dental treatment is provided by the clinic. Payment is due directly to the clinic when you arrive for your appointment, before treatment begins. If your plan requires multiple visits, you pay for the treatment scheduled for each visit when you arrive for that visit.

What transportation is included, and can you help plan my stay?

Your treatment price includes ground transportation for airport pickup, travel from your accommodations to dental appointments and back, and your return to the airport for departure. Flights and accommodations are booked separately.

Divergent Escapes can bring your travel plans together through an optional package, with pricing confirmed before booking. Prefer to arrange your own stay? We can recommend properties where we have established relationships.
