Start with your concern

Root canal treatment in Costa Rica.
Explore care for your tooth.

Root canal treatment addresses inflamed or infected tissue inside a tooth. The treating clinician cleans and seals the canal space when the tooth can be preserved.

The decision depends on the diagnosis and whether the tooth can be restored. The review also identifies what the tooth needs afterward.

Root canal costs in Costa Rica

Your clinical review establishes the recommended treatment, an itemized estimate, and the anticipated appointments. The estimate identifies root canal care, any final restoration, and other recommended treatment. The final plan is confirmed after your in-person examination. If additional needs are identified, the clinic explains the findings, options, and revised costs before you approve treatment.

Can I communicate with the team in English?

Yes. Dr. Adriana Mena and Dr. Alonso Casafont both speak fluent English, so you can discuss your goals, treatment options, and questions directly with them. Before travel, confirm your clinical contact for follow-up and request written instructions in English.

How can I review the clinicians and clinic standards?

Explore the clinical team’s specialties and qualifications on our Meet the Docs section. Confirm who will perform each part of your care. Ask the treating clinic about instrument sterilization and monitoring, infection-control practices, and the equipment and materials proposed for your case.

What should I plan for during recovery?

Your clinician explains care between appointments, comfort management, eating, and when you can travel. Your stay is planned around the recommended treatment and review schedule. Recovery guidance depends on the tooth, the procedure, and your health.

What happens if I need help after returning home?

Contact your treating clinic about treatment-related concerns. Before you leave, review your written aftercare, follow-up contact, and records for your dentist at home. Some concerns require an in-person assessment. Any guarantee terms and costs for additional care or travel should be clear in your written plan. Seek local care promptly for urgent concerns.

How many visits will I need, and how long should I stay?

Your personal plan sets out the anticipated appointments for root canal care, any final restoration, and review. Your clinic confirms the schedule and recommended stay before you finalize travel. The number of visits depends on the tooth’s condition and the treatment needed.

Does every tooth concern require a root canal?

No. Tooth concerns can have different causes. An examination and diagnostic tests guide the recommendation.

Will I need a crown afterward?

A dental crown or another restoration may be recommended based on the tooth and remaining structure. Include this in your treatment discussion.

What if the tooth has already had a root canal?

The clinician may consider retreatment, another procedure, or a different option after assessing the cause of the problem. Ask whether specialist review is needed.

Who handles treatment and payment?

Your dental treatment is provided by the clinic. Payment is due directly to the clinic when you arrive for your appointment, before treatment begins. If your plan requires multiple visits, you pay for the treatment scheduled for each visit when you arrive for that visit.

What transportation is included, and can you help plan my stay?

Your treatment price includes ground transportation for airport pickup, travel from your accommodations to dental appointments and back, and your return to the airport for departure. Flights and accommodations are booked separately.

Divergent Escapes can bring your travel plans together through an optional package, with pricing confirmed before booking. Prefer to arrange your own stay? We can recommend properties where we have established relationships.
